Time to Reflect after the New Year
The Festive and New Year period can be a hubbub of celebration and socialising – but after the Champagne has lost its fizz and the balloons have all popped, the shorter, colder and darker pre-Spring days can leave one feeling in need of new inspiration; a new direction is what’s called for! Late Winter is an ideal time for drawing inward and for reflection. At Casale di Clio, we offer the space, time and resources to consider new possibilities, and in particular to explore creative avenues that might not have been considered before, or which might have lain neglected for a while. Come spend a week in the beautiful Tuscan Apennines to reflect and explore! This is a self-catering retreat, with no classes – meaning you are free to structure your time as you wish.
Explore Creative Avenues
Our library contains resources to encourage and guide in you in exploring your writing, drawing, painting – or other creative potential. We have a Yamaha PSR 400 keyboard (with MIDI function) and small selection of music books in case you would like to explore your musical potential while here, or even come and work on a composition – though we ask that headphones (supplied) are used with the keyboard.
Balance Creative Work with Outdoor Exercise
When not engaging in creative exploration, there are abundant walking opportunities straight from the front door – ranging from a stroll through the woods (perhaps to the local restaurant/bar), to a more energetic hike up into the the local hills and mountains. As you may be aware, some wonderful creative insights can occur while out walking. The local bus service makes it possible to walk one way to various destinations, including Bagni di Lucca, and catch the bus the other way; or take a round trip on the bus! For those enjoying more contemplative exercise, the library contains a couple of yoga mats and one or two illustrated books on postures, and Casale di Clio has several indoor and outdoor spaces for practice.
